Visa & Residence in Turkey

Three legal paths to live here long-term: the Digital Nomad Visa, the Tourist Residence Permit, and (proposed) the 20-year tax holiday for foreign income. Here's what each one actually requires, without the consultant markup.

Which path is yours?

→ You earn $3000+/mo from non-Turkish clients · age 21–55 · eligible passport

Digital Nomad Visa. 1-year, renewable. Foreign salary may be exempt from Turkish income tax under Art. 23(14).

→ You don't qualify for the DNV (income, age, passport) but want to live here

Short-Term Tourist Residence Permit (Kısa Dönem İkamet İzni). 1-year, renewable. Works for ~80% of nationalities. Doesn't grant work rights.

→ You're a high-earning founder thinking about restructuring

Watch the 20-year tax holiday proposal (April 2026). Status: proposed. If passed, foreign-source income is exempt from Turkish tax for 20 years.
